American Soccer Organizations to Support

As you all know, I am a big advocate for lower division/grassroots soccer throughout the country. Below is a list of things you can do to support (what I hope) is our common goal of growing the game at all levels. (If a particular membership is over your budget, consider buying a scarf or something instead)

-Donate a youth Kingston Stockade season ticket ($25)
                Kingston Stockade is an NPSL club based in New York who embodies grassroots soccer. Founded and run by the CEO of Foursquare, Dennis Crowley, the club serves the community of Kingston, New York. Crowley is helping lead the lawsuit against USSF to implement pro/rel. In addition, the club is helping put an end to pay-for-play, and a youth season ticket donates a season ticket to a Hudson Valley organization  such as the YMCA or Boys & Girls Club.

-Buy a Himmarshee FC membership ($20)
                When the NASL's Fort Lauderdale Strikers were forced to fold, the supporter's group, Flight 19, could not stand a city without soccer. To solve this problem, they created Himmarshee FC, a fan owned club competing in the Gold Coast Soccer Premier League.

-Buy a San Francisco City FC membership ($25)
                San Francisco City FC is a fan-owned PDL club. The link takes you to an "ambassador membership" which is for those who don't live in the area to support the club and what they stand for. SF City FC is the prominent grassroots club of the west coast. Your membership also comes with a scarf.

-Buy an Atlanta Silverbacks membership ($50)
               The historic Atlanta Silverbacks recently made the decision to become partially fan owned. The club, once kings of the NASL, now lurk in the NPSL where they survive despite the local market being dominated by MLS newcomers, Atlanta United. You may also choose to donate to their trust.

-Buy a Minneapolis City SC membership ($50)
               MPLS City SC has taken the NPSL by storm recently with their popularity and outgoing marketing techniques. The club is fan owned and more than worth supporting with an out-of-town membership.

-Support SocTakes on Patreon (Any)
               SocTakes is an American soccer news website that focuses on lower division coverage. The site is led by Nipun Chopra, an Indianapolis native and Eleven supporter. They have broken many notable stories in American soccer recently and continue to provide coverage for the often ignored parts of US soccer.

-Donate/buy from to the #SaveTheCrew movement (any)
               I shouldn't have to explain this one.

Everyone loves to hate newly created clubs with an immense amount of money that are placed straight into MLS, and they have an argument. However, I think Atlanta United and LAFC are very similar clubs and are very good for soccer in the US. Here's why. 1. MLS Expansion Power Rankings

12 Cities are battling it out to be awarded the next 4 MLS expansion spots. These next 4 teams will bring the league to 28 teams, its stopping point (LAFC is 23 and Miami is still assumed to be 24). I will be ranking the 12 candidates from best expansion cities to worst, as well as giving a detailed overview to the pros and cons of expanding to that city. 1. Cincinnati Cincinnati makes to most sense. If you've talked with me on Instagram about MLS expansion, you know i'm a big supporter of MLS to Cincinnati. FC Cincinnati is averaging 19,887 per league game this season which leads all of division two American soccer by 8,318 (not counting a few USOC games with 30k+). This is also a better average than 10 current MLS clubs this season (including in-state rival Columbus Crew who have the worst attendance in MLS with just 14,139/game).
